NPS Schools of Choice Information

Students apply for Schools of Choice under the Newaygo County Schools of Choice Application or the Section 105C Application.  Choose one (A, B, C, or D) of the scenarios below.  Follow the instructions for that scenario.  Please note:  The Schools of Choice option for Newaygo County is now closed.  It will open back up in Spring, 2017.

The Newaygo County Schools of Choice Application window is now closed. This window closed on June 1, 2016.  

Students may now complete a Student Release Form if they are asking for release from Big Jackson, Fremont, Grant, Hesperia, or White Cloud.  (See scenario A.)

 

A. My resident (home) district is not Newaygo.  I am a resident of a Newaygo County School district (Big Jackson, Fremont, Grant, Hesperia, White Cloud) and I DO NOT currently attend NPS.

This form must be signed by the resident district Superintendent.  The parent then needs to make an appointment to meet with the NPS building principal prior to the release being approved by the NPS Superintendent.  

B.  My resident (home) district is not Newaygo. I am a resident of a Newaygo County School district (Big Jackson, Fremont, Grant, Hesperia, White Cloud) and I ALREADY attend NPS and have a Schools of Choice application on file.
1.  Students who already are in NPS under Schools of Choice and have an application on file do not need to reapply.

Options for non-Newaygo County residents Section 105C Applications
Deadline is August 31, 2016

C.  My resident (home) district is not Newaygo.  I am a resident of a district not in Newaygo County (for example, Morley Stanwood, Tri-County)  and I DO NOT currently attend NPS.

2.  Fill out the entire form and check "Section 105C Application" box at the top.
3.  Return the application to the Newaygo Public Schools Superintendent's Office.

D.  My resident (home) district is not Newaygo.  I am a resident of a district not in Newaygo County (for example, Morley Stanwood, Tri-County) and I ALREADY attend NPS and have a Schools of Choice application on file.
1.  Students who already are in NPS under Schools of Choice and have an application on file do not need to reapply.

 

Please note:  A student currently attending NPS that may have moved out of the district area during the current school year and have become a non-resident of NPS will need to apply for the Schools of Choice program for the 2016-2017 school year.  Please follow the guidelines above for the process depending on what your current resident (home) school district is.
