School Safety

As of July 1, 2014, the requirements for school safety drills changed for public schools in Michigan.  Schools must conduct five fire safety drills, two tornado drills, and three lockdown drills.  Within thirty days of completing the drills, documentation must be posted on the school website.  Additionally, schools must adopt and implement a cardiac emergency response plan.

Newaygo Public Schools has updated their emergency response procedures to meet these requirements.  Beginning in August, 2014, NPS will periodically have key individuals trained in each building in CPR/AED.

Safety Drills that have been completed will be posted below.
